Restorative yoga is a gentle and calming practice that focuses on relaxation, healing, and rejuvenation. As the body sinks into each pose, the nervous system switches from a state of fight-or-flight to a state of rest-and-digest, activating the body's natural healing responses. Restorative yoga is accessible to individuals of all fitness levels and body types, as the emphasis is not on stretching or strengthening, but rather on finding comfort and ease in each pose. Restorative yoga also provides a space for emotional healing and self-reflection. As the body becomes still and the mind quietens, individuals may experience a deep sense of introspection and self-awareness. It allows for the release of emotional tensions and the processing of deeply held emotions or traumas.
